Baked Sweet Potato Fries

This is my all-time favorite weeknight treat. I love sweet potatoes and I love how easy these are to whip up. Plus, sweet potatoes pack a nutritious punch…

Wash sweet potatoes well, cutting out any little black spots.

Cut the sweet potatoes into half lengthwise and then each half into four pieces. You should end up with some nice long wedges. About 12 fries for a medium/large sweet potato. I like mine with the skin on, but feel free to peel to your taste.

Put wedges into a large bowl and then add grapeseed or olive oil until they are coated, but not soggy. Applying the right amount of oil is a fine art, since too much oil will prevent the fries from getting crunchy and will cause them to lose their shape. Experiment!

Then add seasonings (see list below for some of my favorites).

Bake for 30 minutes at 450 Degrees, flipping them over half way through. Right before they are soft and ready, put the oven on broil and broil for 5-10 minutes to get a nice browned crunchy exterior.

Eat immediately!

Seasonings ideas:

Good old fashioned salt and pepper

Fresh rosemary and garlic cloves, finely chopped and salt and pepper.

Curry powder.

Cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

Cinnamon, allspice, and coconut sugar.
